Still, though, fans filled the grandstands before the event was scheduled to begin, and most were still there when it finally did start three hours later. Two previous events were rained out completely. This year has been a wet season, Wright said. Wright's husband has been pulling for seven years, and this is her fourth year being involved with the sport. "They've got a gorgeous fairgrounds," she said. But with Coshocton as the last this year, he planned to take apart his tractor afterward and start preparing for next year.įor some, this was their first time competing in Coshocton, or their first time in several years.Īudra Wright, of McArthur, traveled more than two hours with her husband, who was scheduled to compete Friday. She's never been to the Coshocton County Fair before, but her husband had a long time ago. The addicting part, he said, is looking forward to improving at the next competition. Snyder has been competing in truck and tractor pulls for 16 years. "Since it is the last one, we really enjoy coming." Plus, he said, he likes coming to Coshocton. Delays there caused the event to go past midnight. Withers' cousin, Bryan Snyder, said that while it was wet, the weather wasn't as bad as the event in Wooster a couple of weeks ago. "It's just extremely hard on the equipment."
